Robotics Specialization FAQ
What age is Robotics best for?
This specialization works for ages 9–17. Younger learners start with block-based programming and pre-built kits, while advanced students design custom robots from scratch.
Do I need to buy robotics hardware?
For full hands-on experience, yes. We provide recommended starter kits ($50-$200) and virtual simulation environments. Many lessons can be completed entirely in simulation.
What programming languages are used?
You'll learn Arduino (C/C++), Python for Raspberry Pi, and optionally block-based languages like Blockly for younger learners.
Can this prepare me for robotics competitions?
Absolutely! Our curriculum aligns with FRC, VEX, FIRST, and other major robotics competitions. Many Intellect Council students compete nationally.
